[nativestudies-l] Thanksgiving Weekend (June 26-29th)- Wampanoag Medicine Fire at NAICOB

Local members of Native student organizations are invited to join an
annual Thanksgiving weekend Medicine Fire hosted by members of the
Wampanoag community (Robert Peters, local artist and leader of cultural
programs for youth is the organizer).  It runs from a sunrise ceremony
Thursday (11/26) until Sunday afternoon (11/29).  There will be talking
circles and speakers throughout the weekend, and people staying
overnight to keep the fire.  

It will be hosted at the North American Indian Center of Boston this
year (take the Green/E-line to the end, Heath Street; NAICOB is across
the street a couple hundred feet back, red brick building with two
flags.  105 South Huntington Ave, Jamaica Plains, MA.  The Fire will be
happening in the ceremonial space behind NAICOB, go to the bottom of the
parking lot and around to your right to the gate.)

Folks are welcome to come for any amount of time they can, and asked to
bring food and/or firewood as able.  Kieran Conroy is the Harvard
