Good afternoon,

Please find following information on the Student Mobility Program offered by the Government of Canada.  The program is intended to offer international students the opportunity to advance their understanding of Canada in those areas of interest to Canada or in areas of shared policy challenges between Canada and the United States (as well as other countries, as this is a global competition.)  We are particularly interested in innovative projects that will provide students hands-on learning experiences and training and promote greater student awareness of Canada.  It is is designed to support short term initiatives involving exchanges, study tours, internships, scholarships, etc in Canada, but projects including elements of reciprocity (ie Canadian students to the US) are also welcome.

 

Applicants can request up to $10,000 CAD to cover expenses for travel related expenses including economy class airfare, local transportation, and accommodation.

 

The deadline for submission is February 1, 2011 and applications can be directly submitted to me.  

 

Note: All activities must take place after April 1, 2011 and finish before March 31, 2012.

Please note: Funding through this grant is to be used to cover students only, support for faculty, or "project leaders" must be found elsewhere. This grant is non-renewable, so if it is a program that will continue in future years, the institution can still make it part of their annual PEG/PDG to keep the program going.
