For those looking for faculty positions for next fall, there is an
opening in education at University of Wisconsin-Green Bay

very closely with First Nations Studies, and together we operate the
Professional Program in Education Center for First Nations Studies
(http://www.uwgb.edu/educ-fns/). The Center exists to equip teachers to
teach more substantively about the history, culture, sovereignty, and
contemporary status of First Nations in Wisconsin and to prepare
teachers to effectively serve Native students and communities. This
semester, there are four Elders in residence at the Center. Please

Position: Assistant Professor (Professional Program in Education)

Position Number: F088 

Essential Job Functions: Teach undergraduate or graduate courses in
areas consistent with expertise and program needs (e.g., curriculum and
instruction, educational psychology, inclusion and/or other areas.).
Will perform scholarly activities consistent with rank, advise students,
perform institutional service, and contribute to the ongoing development
of the program. 

 

Qualifications: 

Required:

*	Doctorate in Education or closely related field from an
accredited institution; will consider ABD candidates with the
expectation that the degree is completed by the end of the first-year
contract period 
*	Three years of experience working in a PK-12 educational setting

*	Knowledge of and commitment to the teacher preparation process 
*	Potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship 
*	Communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work
effectively with a diverse array of students and colleagues 

 Preferred:

*	Knowledge and experience in at least one of the following areas:
bilingual education, literacy, and social studies 
*	Experience in school or community partnerships

Starting Date: August 27, 2012 Conditions of Appointment: Position is an
academic year tenure-track appointment. Applicants must be considered
for tenure and promotion in six years although tenure decisions may be
considered at any time. Promotion from Assistant to Associate Professor
is simultaneous with tenure. Excellence in teaching, sustained scholarly
activity and institutional service required for retention and promotion.
Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of
finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on
the finalist(s).  In compliance with the Wisconsin Fair Employment Act,
