INFORMATION ON THE SAUVE SCHOLARS PROGRAM – APPLICATIONS DUE NOVEMBER 1st 2011
The Jeanne Sauvé Foundation, established by the late Governor General, the Right Honourable Jeanne Sauvé, is dedicated to the development of exceptional leadership talent among today’s youth. Its flagship program is the Sauvé Scholars Program.
Recruitment for the 2012-2013 cohort of Scholars is underway and, once again, we are seeking your help to identify the best and brightest young leaders from around the globe.
The Sauvé Scholars Program hosts young leaders 23 - 30 years (on 31 December 2011) who want to change the world. The Scholars are chosen above all on the basis of qualities laid out by the first woman to serve as Governor General of Canada, the Right Honourable Jeanne Sauvé: Initiative, Motivation, Vision, Imagination, Demonstrated Communication Skills, Awareness of international and domestic issues, and a strong desire to effect change.
Each year, up to 14 remarkable young leaders with a proven track record as agents of change are offered a unique opportunity tospend nine months away from their studies, careers or other formal com-mitments, for a period of reflection and self-realization — both personal and professional. Each Scholar is expected to undertake a new project in his or her chosen field — for example, advocacy, arts, business, communications,education, government, philanthropy or research — or complete one that is under¬way. They live together in Jeanne Sauvé House, have the status of  “Graduate Research Trainees”, and consequently enjoy access to McGill University’s academic programs and facilities along with a wide range of other cultural and intellectual resources in the broader Montreal community. At the same time, they contribute to and benefit from the communal life and multi-faceted exchanges with their fellow Scholars, as well as outstanding Academic Mentors, speakers and experts in the Scholars’ respective fields. Since 2003, the Sauvé Scholars Program has welcomed 114 Scholars from 47 different countries. Their sojourn in Montreal has proven in every case to be rewarding for them and for the community at large. We invite you to meet the current cohort of Scholars at http://www.sauvescholars.org/en/scholars/year/2011. This group of remarkable young people is diverse, intelligent, courageous, and inspired.
The Application process is simple. It is comprised of the following three steps:
1.         Applicants must initiate an Application by completing a Basic Information Form online at http://sauvescholars.org/en/scholars/apply. The submission of this form triggers an e-mail message to the Applicant containing both the Application and the Nomination Forms as attached PDF files.
2.         All Applicants must be officially nominated. Nominators must complete and upload the Nomination Form to our website by Midnight on November 1, 2011.
3.         All Applicants must complete and upload the Application Form to our website by Midnight on 1 November, 2011.

INFORMATION  Á PROPOS DU PROGRAMME DES BOURSIERS SAUVÉ - DATE LIMITE POUR LA SOUMISSION DES DOSSIERS COMPLETS: LE MARDI 1 NOVEMBRE 2011 à MINUIT HE.
La Fondation Jeanne Sauvé, qui a été mise sur pied par la très honorable Jeanne Sauvé, gouverneur général, vise à favoriser l’émergence de leaders d’exception au sein de la jeunesse actuelle. Le Programme des Boursiers Sauvé, son initiative vedette, s’adresse aux jeunes leaders d’exception entre 23 et 30 ans (au 31 décembre 2011), de toutes provenances, qui ont à cœur de changer le monde.
Les Boursiers sont choisis avant tout en fonction des critères établis par Madame Sauvé, première femme à occuper le poste de gouverneur général du Canada, à savoir, l’initiative, la motivation, la vision, l’imagination, des aptitudes avérées pour lacommunication, une sensibilisation aux grandes questions internationales etlocales, et une volonté réelle de changer les choses.
Le recrutement des Boursiers pour la promotion 2012-2013 est en cours. La date limite pour la soumission des inscriptions est le mardi 1 novembre 2011 à minuit, HE. Alors, nous nous adressons à vous afin de nous aider à repérer de jeunes leaders parmi les plus remarquables et les plus brillants du monde.
Chaque année le Programme des Boursiers Sauvé offre à  jusqu’à 14 jeunes esprits indépendants, hautement motivés et ayant des aptitudes avérées pour être des agents de changement une occasion unique de mettre leurs études, leur carrière ou leurs autres engagements officiels entre parenthèses pendant neuf mois pour se donner un temps de réflexion et se réaliser sur les plans personnel et professionnel. Chaque Boursier est appelé à entreprendre un nouveau projet dans le domaine de son choix – action revendicatrice, affaires, arts, droit, communications,éducation, gouvernement, philanthropie  ou recherche, par exemple – ou à en terminer un qui est en cours.
Les Boursiers, qui vivent ensemble dans la Maison Jeanne Sauvé, ont un statut de « stagiaires universitaires » à l’Université McGill et jouissent, de ce fait, d’un accès illimité aux ressources et aux installations de l’institution en plus d’une gamme de ressources culturelles et intellectuelles au sein de la communauté montréalaise. En même temps, la vie en commun et les échanges variés avec les autres Boursiers, leur mentor universitaire, lesconférenciers invités et d’autres experts dans les domaines respectifs des Boursiers ajoutent une dimension à la fois humaine et internationale sans pareille.
