Manages the Initiative for the Development of Academic Innovation by overseeing keys areas such as the identification of opportunities for new programs related to the core mission of LASPAU, development and implementation of new program and services, program design according to agreements established with client institutions. Working closely with the Executive Director and Deputy Director, is responsible for the, development, planning and implementation of programs, projects and activities to achieve financial goals set for IDIA. Also is responsible for outreach activities to promote IDIA in Latin America and the Caribbean and to identify experts, resources and institutions to work with the Initiative. Develops and implements mechanisms to assess the effect of IDIA programs.
Responsibilities
* Manages the IDIA area to achieve programmatic and financial goals by organizing the team and resources available.
* Develops the strategy for IDIA, including concrete action plans aimed at achieving programmatic and financial goals.
* Develops new program opportunities, prepares programs proposals, manages negotiations of agreements and budgets with client institutions, and carries out the appropriate actions to make proposals become programs.
* With the Executive Director and Deputy Director, helps develop new areas of business opportunity for IDIA.
* Identifies experts, resources and institutions to work with IDIA and establishes new institutional alliances.
* Works with Deputy Director to target funding from governments, international organizations, and private foundations.
* Ensures that the proper steps for measuring results are developed and applied for all IDIA programs (e.g. surveys, interviews, collection of course documents)
* Reports to client institutions program results and provide recommendations for future steps in the relation with LASPAU.
* Supervises the IDIA team and is responsible for communicating goals and managing performance.
Performs other related duties as required.
This position works under the supervision of the Deputy Director and in collaboration with Executive Director. Supervises the IDIA Program Coordinator and Program Assistant. Oversees the work of IDIA fellows. Works in close collaboration with the Associate Director of Finance.
