AIATSIS, the Australian Government's agency that houses the world's largest, unique collection of research and materials about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and heritage, is thrilled to announce the launch of its new website as part of its 50th Anniversary celebrations.

The website is a sensory experience, sharing the 50 year journey of AIATSIS through striking imagery, rich textures and abundant audio and video content and features include:


*         Stories told by a diversity of people in video, photographic or writings that illustrate the diverse and valuable work of AIATSIS.

*         A 'Featured collections' section that houses our online exhibitions and showcases items we have in our collection. This section features a brand new exhibition titled - 'Back to my country - the Lorrkkon Ceremony for Gagudju Man.'

*         A 'People' section, a compilation of video and text quotes that speak of people's experience of AIATSIS. Who better to attest to what we do here than the people who know us best, the people we work with, our partners and our clients.
Other new features include an upcoming event listing, photo galleries and a media centre and tags. As part of stage one, the new website complements, rather than replaces our existing website.  To navigate back to the existing website click on the "Visit main site" link in the top left of the menu.
