[NHCOLL-L:690] Laser printed labels etc

Hi all

There has been much discussion on the list regarding laser printed 
labels.  Has no one looked into thermal transfer printers as an 
option?  Alpha systems had a syetm on demo at the SPNHC 
conference in Washington.  I have received quotes from them for a 
Datamax XL thermal transfer printer ($1795) and 6X152 metres of 
preservation tag material ($2119).  Thsi medium is completely 
neutral and leeches nothing into the alcohol.  The print is 
embedded in the tag medium and so is virtually indestructible.

The system is bar code compatible and compatible with windows 
and mac systems.

Anyone using this system or have any ideas?
