First, many thanks to all those who responded with informative answers re
my earlier post about amphipods. Now, I have a molluscan question: we are
in the process of moving to new storage facilities and would like to
upgrade our storage techniques for c. 4000 lots of molluscs (some from
Arkansas, most from around the world, most with not wonderful data, some
with fine data). They are now stored in cardboard boxes/plastic bags.
Would you please suggest a) some museums within driving distance which we
can visit and chat with other curators b)somewhere besides Field
Museum/Smithsonian with good collections where I can chat with someone over
the phone. Thanks much--this really is outside my area so your suggestions
will be greatly appreciated.
