Curatorial Associate -- Ornithology

The Department of Ornithology at the American Museum of Natural History
seeks a Curatorial Associate to manage curatorial operations of the largest
bird collection in North America.  This individual will be expected to
supervise collection staff and help oversee all aspects of collection
management including cataloguing, preparation, preservation, loans,
conservation, and pest management.  Additional duties will include planning
collection moves and computerization of records, participation in other
improvement projects, and preparation of reports and grant proposals.
Requirements for the position include a Ph.D., knowledge of birds of the
world, a strong background in collection management, and experience with
databasing and information systems. Experience with fieldwork and
preparation of grant proposals is desirable.  Salary $48,000 per annum +
