NSCG Pyrite decay seminar,

This email is to announce the date for the NSCG Pyrite decay seminar to be
held 

in the Demonstration Room of the Natural History Museum, London

from 10 am to 4 pm on Tuesday 27th February 2001.

The morning will consist of a series of presentations and the afternoon
will be practical demonstrations in the Palaeontology Conservation Unit
showing the various treatments along with informal discussions.

At the moment we have the following presentations:

Caroline Buttler (NMGW, Cardiff), Treatments used at Cardiff.
Alison Stooshnov (NMGW, Cardiff), Pyrite damaged paper label conservation.
Joy Irving (Oxford), Ammonia treatments of Pyrite mineral.
Adrian Doyle (NHM), Barrier films and microclimates.
David Gray (NHM), Case study: Liopleurodon cracking.
Paul Davis (NHM), A curators requirement for pyritic specimens.

£10 for members of NSCG and £15 for non-members.
