[NHCOLL-L:1080] NA insect collection statistics?

Hi, all. I've been having some trouble locating information along the
following lines, and would appreciate pointers:

(1) A *recent* (within the last 10 years, at least) ranking of the
size of North American insect collections, possibly with a breakdown
by orders. This information is not on the "Insect and Spider
Collections of the World" website hosted by the Bishop Museum
(http://www.bishopmuseum.org/bishop/ento/codens-r-us.html), nor
indicated in the last hardcopy edition of the book (it does not give
the size of every collection, nor rank them).
(2) Any collection profiles (possibly but not necessarily following
the McGinley et al. guidelines) that would indicate the state of
curation of some of the larger NA collections - for example, what
percentage of the average collection is identified to species? Genus
only? Family only? etc.

Thanks in advance,
