Laurel -
This is from the RC-AAM listserve:

"In an effort to share the lessons learned during the Science Museum of
Minnesota’s recent multiyear move to a new facility, the Collections Management
and Conservation departments have written a comprehensive and insightful guide to
moving collections for other institutions who are considering a move. Moving the
Mountain: A Guide to Moving Collections is a case study that includes a detailed
look at the planning process, project management techniques, training and
management of a large volunteer force, packing methods, and moving practices and
procedures. Most important, it includes analysis of the problems we encountered
and suggestions for improvements. The 200+-page manual is now available for $25
(plus $3.50 for mailing) by contacting Ellen Holt-Werle, Research and Collections
Division Administrative Coordinator,at eholt at smm.org or (651) 221-9424."

I know we will be ordering a copy!
