IT IS NOW ILLEGAL FOR AUSTRALIAN INSTITUTIONS TO LOAN YOU MATERIAL!!! - UNTIL YOU COMPLETE THE NEW REGISTRATION FORM.

Australia has just imposed new legislation concerning the exchange of museum and herbarium specimens.  As of January 11, 2002 all the old legislation, forms and registration numbers are invalid.

In order for Australian institutions to be able to send material to you, your institution has to re-register with Environment Australia. Fortunately, this is a simple process - you just fill out a form and send it in.  Email Angela Tsang [angela.tsang at csiro.au] and she will send you an electronic version of the form.

No matter what your standing or previous agreements, IT IS NOW ILLEGAL FOR AUSTRALIAN INSTITUTIONS TO LOAN MATERIAL TO YOUR INSTITUTION UNTIL YOUR INSTITUTION COMPLETES THIS FORM AND RECEIVES A NEW REGISTRATION NUMBER.
