CURATOR OF NATURAL HISTORY

The post is career graded dependent on attainment of a recognised
professional museum qualification.					Ref:

Reading Museum Service aims to be a centre of excellence in providing
opportunities for life long learning through real objects. We are committed
to inter-disciplinary working and staff development.

In this role you will have the responsibility of continuing to develop the
regionally important natural history collections and to raise awareness
about the natural environment of Reading and surrounding areas. You will
play a part in the care and management of the collections, and in projects
to provide access to users through display, the world wide web, learning
activities and community partnerships.

In addition to your collections responsibilities, you will be given
opportunities to be involved in a wide range of activities, depending on
your relevant skills and aptitudes.

A dynamic, self-motivated professional, you will demonstrate commitment and
enthusiasm for providing access to collections for learners of all ages. A
degree in a natural science subject is required.
