[NHCOLL-L:1929] Rite in the Rain paper

Thank you for the responses regarding stability of Rite in the Rain paper 
in document archives. Ross MacCulloch told me that he has R n R field notes 
that are 15 years old and so far have not shown deterioration.

I forgot to mention that part of our accessioning protocol is to scan all 
incoming field notes, saving them in pdf, tif, and gif.  These files are 
backed up on CD and maintained  on the collection manager's computer hard 
drive.  In this way, the researcher can view the original field notes 
without handling them.
