[NHCOLL-L:2203] letters and freezers

Hi all,

I have a two very different questions. The first was put forth to me
by a researcher who is working on naming a _Datura_ specimen. Do
letters that he has received from specialists need to be placed in a
library archive in order to be cited? Just wondering if any of you
have had experience with this.

My second question pertains to freezing herbarium specimens to
prevent/stop pest problems. Are there any standardized or favored
methods as to how long to place specimens in the freezer? I've heard
various suggestions, and am not sure what the best method is.

Thanks,

Tonya
