The curator told me to arrange in MBF order because it is (nearly) complete 
(for birds) and many other museums use it too.  "We follow a single 
authority so that anybody can find stuff."

Ever had a visiting scientist rearrange specimens for you because they were 
in the "wrong" phylogenetic order? heh heh

(I wish I had photographed more of the visiting researchers.)
