Please post the following announcement to the appropriate SPNHC list.
Thank you.
To anyone interested, the Dallas Museum of Natural History has reopened
its search for fossil preparator. I will be at both Society of
Vertebrate Paleontology and Geological Society of America meetings if
anyone has any questions.
Anthony Fiorillo
Curator of Earth Sciences
Dallas Museum of Natural History
The Dallas Museum of Natural History Department of Paleontology
currently has a position available for a fossil preparator. The
Department of Paleontology has an expanding collection of fossil
plants,
invertebrates and vertebrates. The Museum collections contain fossils
from the Precambrian to the Quaternary. The current research program
in
vertebrate paleontology at the Museum focuses on Lower Devonian and
Upper Cretaceous rocks of western North America.
The preparator reports to the Curator of Earth Sciences. Duties
include
all components of fossil preparation, molding and casting, coordinating
activities for the department's volunteers, and database management.
Some field work may be included. In addition to the Curator of Earth
Sciences, the individual will also work with part-time employees in the
department. A bachelor's degree in geology or biology required, a
master's degree preferred. Excellent benefits package included and
competitive salary.
Interested applicants should send a cover letter, a resume or
curriculum
vitae, and the names and contact information of three references to:
Dr. Anthony R. Fiorillo, Curator of Earth Sciences, Dallas Museum of
Natural History, P.O. Box 150349, Dallas, TX 75315. Review of
applications will begin November 15, 2004. The Dallas Museum of
Natural
History is an equal opportunity employer.
