Could anyone respond to my query about stamp pads? Have any of you had
experience with these newer stamps? What are your thoughts, concerns, etc.?
**For some updated information. I called Sanford, and specifically asked
them about the lightfastness of a Sharpie. It is not identified on the MSDS
sheet. They said that even their new industrial strength sharpie is known
to start to fade under constant light in 6-8 months. The stamp company that
I have been working with has theirs tested for greater than 1 year, and
still going. This product is very new, and still being tested.
Thanks,
Susan

Did anyone respond off list? I am interested in how long the stamp will
last before being rubbed off.

I am curious if any of you have used archival stamps for processing
documents and plastic bags? I started looking into the science of scrap
booking and noticed that many of the stamps now identify themselves as
archival, lightfast, and use pigma ink. I have checked out one stamp pad
and played with it and I really like it for stamping on plastic bags. I am
trying this stamp for adhering our accession number onto artifact plastic
bags. It really cuts down the time for 'writing' the accession number on the
plastic bags.
Have any of you had experience with these newer stamps? What are your
thoughts, concerns, etc.?
