[NHCOLL-L:2571] Advice needed on moving glass models

We are in the process of moving a recently orphaned collection, and have
found that among the items to be transferred to us are a number of very
delicate glass models of marine invertebrates, currently mounted in display
cases. These appear to be signed, although I have not yet been able to
confirm the initials (we have not yet opened the cases). Many of them are
in unbroken condition, but some of the most delicate ones have some
breakage or distortion of the tiniest spines. I am highly concerned about
how we are going to pack and move these - our facility is about 90 miles
away, and the institution is planning to renovate in two months, so our
time frame is very short. If anyone on the list has dealt with moving
items such as these and has any advice for us, please contact me off-list.
Thanks,
Jessica
