JOB ANNOUCNEMENT:  

 

"The Faculty of Science, Department of Geology and Geophysics, is currently
accepting applications for one regular, full-time Geology Support
Technician/Collections.

 

There are two key support areas for this position. The first purpose of the
Geology Support Technician/Collections is to manage the Department's
extensive collections of samples and prepared materials. Coordinating
permanent retention of research materials is also required. The Department's
large collection of sub-surface core will be well documented and well
managed. Coordination of loans to and from outside organizations is also
undertaken. Acquisition of new materials via new collecting, purchase and
donation is expected. 


The second activity is direct collections/learning materials support for
larger, sample intensive undergraduate courses mainly in the GLGY stream.
This includes appropriate identification, labeling and descriptions."

 

This is a permanent, full-time University support staff position. Additional
