Dear List,
Would like to get a feeling for the breadth of use of barcoding in NH
collections.
Its use as an inventorying tool is clear (especially in terms of frozen
tissue collections and situations where various parts of specimens are
housed in different areas). I am more interested in current usage as a
data retrieval tool and thoughts on future applications. Our frozen
tissue collection is completely barcoded and a small subset of our
mammal collection is barcoded. Debating the continued use of barcodes
on skin/skel specimen labels.
Thanks much for any input.
