[NHCOLL-L:3285] acid or alcian?

Many thanks to all who answered to my request on Acid blue....

BTW is the correct name "Acid blue" or "Alcian blue"?
I strongly suspect that they are two very 
different compounds, the first being used in the 
textile industry (and also to colour gobies' 
papillae :-) ), and the second one for hystological studies.

Is it correct?
