Hi all
It appears as if Dr Rehman or Dr Haq (not sure if this is their real name or if this is one person using two aliases) are back in business and trying to solicit specimens out of unsuspecting collections. Please be aware once again that this is a scam and that there is no such Institution as the Life Sciences Museum in Jhansi. I have verified this with Indian scientists and colleagues (one of ehich actually visited the address given and verified that no such museum exists and that these folks are selling specimens as a biological supply company) and have also emailed Dr.'s Rehman and Haq to request that they confirm their status as a bona fide museum or desist with no reply. Please do not be conned into sending specimens to these people as, from what I can ascertain, they are selling these specimens for profit as a biological supply firm. I have contacted various high ranking officials in India to try and have these people put out of busines to no avail.
If anyone knows of anyone in India or you are an Indian scientist who may be willing to help in this regard please contact me off list. Ideally we require someone in Indian Conservation or Import/Export control who would be willing to investigate these folks and force them to desist with these email requests.
Thanks
Andy
