The Department of Palaeontology, Natural History Museum (NHM), London is
currently advertising the following posts;

Curator/documentation officer Fossil Mammals
The Department is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable
curator to provide support in its Vertebrate Section.  Areas of
responsibility will include our internationally important mesozoic and
tertiary mammal collection. The successful candidate will have an
understanding of mammal systematics, have prior experience of working with
fossil collections and knowledge of standards of care and documentation of
museum collections. Experience of museum database systems is an advantage
and use of standard word-processing and databasing software essential.
 
The post is initially for a period of one year and is an opportunity to join
an enthusiastic and dedicated team of collections managers working on fossil
mammal collections.

Curator/documentation officer Fossil Invertebrates
The Department is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable
curator to provide support in its Invertebrates and Plants Section.  Areas
of responsibility will include our internationally important fossil
cephalopod collection. The successful candidate will have an understanding
of mollusc systematics, have prior experience of working with fossil
collections and knowledge of standards of care and documentation of museum
collections. Experience of museum database systems is an advantage and use
of standard word-processing and databasing software essential.

Laboratory Technician/Palaeontological Technician
 
The Palaeontological Conservation Unit  (PCU) at the Natural History Museum
is seeking to employ a lab technician initially for a one-year period. The
main duties of the individual will be to assist in the day-to-day running of
the conservation unit facility, maintain stock and run the stock control
system, maintain health and safety documentation, ensure all records and
inventories are properly maintained and to liaise with the Estates
department as required. Reporting to the Head, PCU the successful candidate
will also be expected to undertake preparation and conservation work in the
Unit as required.   The post is initially for a period of 12 months.

Palaeontological Conservator/Preparator
 
The Palaeontological Conservation Unit (PCU) at the Natural History Museum
has a position available for a Palaeontological Preparator/Conservator. The
post is to undertake contract work on historical fossil marine reptiles. The
successful applicant should have experience in conservation and/or
preparation of palaeontological specimens. They will have a minimum of two
years experience working in a laboratory facility and be familiar with
relevant Health and Safety procedures. The post is for a fixed period of 20
months.
