The rubber sealing of Le Parfait glasses may cause problems in the long
run. The natural rubber gets crumbly over the years resulting in untight
lots as far as I observed in our fish collection. This might be a
problem of the denaturing agents added to the alcohol (2 % MEK in our
collection) and / or traces of formalin released from the specimens.
In Europe, Grathwohl (Denmark) was providing collection glasses with a
PE or PVC plastic liner. Glasses with PE liner work fine, but Grathwol
offers the 75 ml nowadays only. The glasses work fine in collections
with *undenatured* alcohol as preservative fluids, but especially PVC
liners may cause problems with denaturing agents. Homepage Grathwol:
http://www.grathwol.dk/ (Danish only)
We are using pharmaceutical glasses which are available up to 1000 ml.
Glasses have plastic lids with a PE sealing in the liner, lids are ISO
normed (= liners can be replaced easily when broken). You should look
for a local provider in Sweden, because cost for transportation are much
higher then the glasses themselves ....
Hope this helps
