_Cooperative Efforts Protect Heritage at Home and Abroad
Salzurg, Austria was the site of a late October gathering of 60 cultural
heritage leaders representing 32 nations on five continents. The session
at the Salzburg Global Seminar, Connecting to the World’s Collections:
Making the Case for the Conservation and Preservation of our Cultural Heritage,
led to a declaration of common purpose. The declaration has been posted
on Heritage Preservation’s web site. To read it, click here_

Alliance for Response, Heritage Preservation’s innovative program that
protects cultural heritage through community partnerships, is sponsoring a
record number of Forums this fall. Alliance for Response Forums bring
together museums, libraries, archives, and historic sites to make connections
with emergency responders before disasters happen.
Alliance for Response Forums have been held in Vermont, Denver, and
Raleigh, with a regional pilot in Harrisburg, PA. The final Forum of the year
will take place on December 8 in Savannah, GA. Learn about this year’s
Alliance for Response Forums – the programs, the participants, and the power of
partnerships – on Heritage Preservation’s _Web site_
