Dawn,
What would you like to know? He was the first curator of our museum. We have many of his journals in our collection. Let me know what you need and I'll see what I can find for you.

Subject: [NHCOLL-L:4930] looking for biographical information for Francis Spencer Dayton
Hello,
We are looking for biographical information about one of our collectors after having come up fairly dry through typical avenues of research.
Francis Spencer Dayton is associated with our ornithology collection, having collected eggs and some birds around 1880-1900 in the Midwest region. He seems to have done some field collecting with E. Spear (or Spere). He served as Vicar and Reverend in the Protestant Episcopal Church in Wisconsin.
That is the extent of our knowledge about this collector - if you have additional information, we would greatly appreciate your help!
Thank you,
Dawn
