The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County invites applications
for the position of Curatorial Assistant in Crustacea. This position
will complement existing staff and requires excellent organization and
communication skills. The successful individual will assist with
curation, sorting, databasing, and physical integration of Crustacea
and other invertebrates into the Museum’s vast marine invertebrate
collections. This person provides technical, curatorial, and clerical
support for Crustacea and the Marine Biodiversity Center in the
performance of collection, research, and educational activities. We
seek an individual with experience with marine invertebrates,
specifically Crustacea. The applicant should have a B.S. degree in
Biology and preferably knowledge of, and experience with, contemporary
museum collection management and specimen conservation techniques. The
Museum's Marine Invertebrate group includes Crustacea, Echinoderms,
Malacology, Invertebrate Paleontology, Polychaetous Annelids, and the
Marine Biodiversity Center. The individual we are seeking must be
resourceful and have excellent interpersonal skills. Learn more about
