[NHCOLL-L:5323] ESA and CITES - a thank-you.

I want to thank those of you that provided very helpful advice.  It turns out that although we had previously been issued the special permit for EXPORT and RE-IMPORT of MUSEUM SPECIMENS under the US ESA, we have not used it in at least a decade.   Once I cleared out the confusion  that it was not a "Taking Permit" but solely for the export and re-import of listed species, it made sense, and I am recommending that we not bother with the permit unless a situation comes up where we would have to apply for it.   Of course, the easy way out is to just state up front in our collections policies that we do not ship ESA-listed species outside the US.
