I am trying to develop our curation policy here in the department and could use some advice. Last year I instituted a fee for faculty and students to deposit their collections with the museum (and the curatorial practices that accompany our accessioning the collections). I am getting some serious blowback from the other archaeologists who insist that faculty should never have to pay for curation at their own institution. Do you happen to know of a range of approaches that university folks might have had to such curation issues? I have been contacting friends of mine, but the range of responses is vast, so I seek professional help!!!!!
Thanks
Carolyn
