The New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science has an opening for a Bioscience Curator. We are a State funded museum, so the position must be filled through the State Personnel Office. The website is http://www.spo.state.nm.us/. Click on "Apply for a State Government Job" and search the Albuquerque jobs for Bioscience Curator (Job No.4747). The position is open until February 15, 2012. Please disregard the "minimum requirements" listed. We're looking for a biologist, an MS or PhD, with an active research and field program and experience in curating biological collections. Our biological collections consist of: mammals of the Southwest including Mexico (6,200); birds from New Mexico (440); arthropods, mostly from New Mexico (6,100); mollusks including marine, freshwater, and land snails (14,000); and plants (3,400). A biologist who specializes in one of the above disciplines with research interests in New Mexico and the Southwest is preferred. We are located in Albuquerque, New Mexico also home to the Museum of Southwestern Biology of the University of New Mexico.
