[Nhcoll-l] Shipping Workshop in Berlin & Brussels

Hi all,

on behalf of CETAF (Consortium of European Taxonomic Facilities),

we are happy to announce two *CETAF workshops on "Legal aspects of 
shipping preserved animals and tissues"* to be held at the Museum für 
Naturkunde in *Berlin (27 November 2012)* and at the Royal Belgian 
Institute of Natural Sciences in *Brussels  (12 - 13 December 2012)*.

Workshop covers following topics:

a)recent updates in CITES (27 September 2012),

b)animal health / SANCO (2013),

c)IATA dangerous goods (1 January 2013) regulations, including IATA 
training for shipping of ethanol preserved specimens acc. to IATA 
special provision A180.

It further covers:

d)proper packing, marking & documentation to adhere to current 
legislation requirements.

There will be no costs involved for participation. However, participants 
should take care of their own travel & accommodation and are required to 
*register* for the concerning workshop.

- To register for the *Brussels* workshop please return the attached 
*register form to the CETAF General Secretary, Ana Casino* (email:

acasino at naturalsciences.be <mailto:acasino at naturalsciences.be>). 
Deadline is 30 November 2012.

Both workshops are identical, it may be possible that members of the 
European Commission in charge for animal health and environment will 
join with separate talks for the Brussels workshop.
