Job Vacancy
The National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution, seeks a Museum Specialist to join the collections management team in the Division of Birds (http://vertebrates.si.edu/birds ).  The incumbent will be responsible for preparing specimens (skins, skeletons, anatomical specimens, genetic tissue samples, and special preparations), accessioning and cataloging, maintaining computer databases, processing loans, organizing and preserving the existing collection, assisting with pest management, and participating in fieldwork to collect new specimens.  The incumbent will also assist visiting researchers and answer information requests about the collection.  This is a Federal career position for an experienced candidate, starting at GS-9 with promotion potential to GS-11.

This job is located in Washington, DC.  Application deadline September 25.
