The Wisconsin State Herbarium (WIS) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison
is seeking applicants for a permanent, full-time Academic Curator position.
The successful candidate is expected to devote ca. 50% of his/her time to
activities related to specimen curation and outreach, 30% to research, and
20% to advancing the use of information technology within the herbarium.
With a collection approaching 1.2 million specimens, WIS is one of the ten
largest and most active herbaria in North America.  Plans are currently
underway to double the herbarium's footprint within the UW Department of
Botany, and the new Curator will play an important role in shaping the
future of this internationally respected institution.  Further information
