The largest glass jars we have been able to find for some time now have a 110mm opening and I suspect you will struggle to find anything larger in glass.  Specimens that large traditionally get placed in tanks or buckets in wet collections and there are various ways of doing this (varying in price too).

Here at KU we use stainless steel tanks designed by Delta Designs or Steel Fixtures - see attached.  I can provide pricing if necessary.  Another cheaper option is the polycarbonate storage pails from University Products - http://www.universityproducts.com/cart.php?m=product_list&c=165.  Unfortunately these do not have a very tight seal but have the benefit over normal 5 gallon buckets that they are see-through.

Hello,

I am looking for an appropriate glass container to house a holotype specimen.  The problem is that I need a container that has at least an 170 mm (6 ¾") opening.  Does anyone know where I might be able to order such a container?
