Hello Jeanette,

In our collection, the Diatom Herbarium of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia, there are 170 permanent diatom slides from various Great Lakes localities, mostly from Lake Michigan (95) and Lake Erie (48). Please, let me know if you need more information.

Subject: [Nhcoll-l] Great Lakes phycology herbarium holdings

Hi all,
I am giving a talk and wanted to make mention of the phycological holdings of Great Lakes algae. I am not coming across much as far as an internet search goes, outside of the Smithsonian and the University of Michigan. Can anyone steer me towards any herbaria that have established holdings?

Thanks in advance,
Jeanette Girosky
