Folks,

We have been having trouble getting the on-line Zoological Record to work just lately. Here is the official reason why, from a representative of Thompson Reuters and the Web of Science:


Web of Science releases, updates, etc. are designed to work with the most used / popular browsers, not the most current. Thus, the new database version supports IE8 and IE9. IE10 and the newer versions of Firefox and Chrome are not used by most Web of Science researchers, and are not supported. Once those browser are more popular with the general public they will be supported.

IE10 with compatibility mode mimics IE8 and should work fine.

So there you have it. "Most Web of Science researchers do not use the newer versions", a conclusion doubtless supported by rigorous research. I'm waiting for the Windows 3.1 version.
