Dear nhcoll members,
I was recently awarded an internship by the Building a Community of Natural
History Collections RCN to develop best practices protocols for the use of
3D photogrammetry as a means of creating digital archives of vertebrate
skeletal material (
http://www.collectionsweb.org/get_involved/getinvolved_internships.htm). A
key part of this project is to assess the precision of photogrammetry
models across a range of skeletal element shapes and sizes, or at the very
least, across the range of shapes and sizes of the most commonly studied
skeletal elements. But first I need to figure out which skeletal elements
are studied most often.
To that end, I have posted a short (4 questions + optional comments)
*survey* for natural history curators and collections managers here:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/68ZZD8H
Please note that the survey's questions intentionally *do not *ask for
information about data collection using CT or microCT.
It would be a great help to me and some small help to the RCN if you could
take a few minutes to respond to this survey.
Thank you very much for your time.
Sincerely,
David Katz
