Request for Input to the EarthCube Paleogeosciences Catalog

Please forward to anyone (geoscientists) who may be able to provide the necessary information.

Hello,

The NOAA World Data Center for Paleoclimatology is reaching out to scientists and educators, to help you add information about databases, software, and repositories to a central and comprehensive U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) catalog of paleogeoscience resources.

Paleogeosciences encompasses both paleoenvironmental and paleobiological subjects such as: paleoclimatology, paleoecology, paleogeography, geochronology, and geochemistry.

We are striving to catalog software, databases, and sample repositories in these areas.

* Software should be non-commercial, and should be paleogeoscience-specific, such as radiocarbon calibration code or CoreWall.

* Databases for the catalog are defined as having an online searchable interface.

* Sample repositories should offer samples for destructive or non-destructive analysis, such as drill core, tree ring, and ice core repositories.

We need you to help us include the resources your community has created and used. Send us the name, website URL, and type of your resource in an email response to this message by *_July 31 _* to be included.

Please do not hesitate to call with any questions regarding a potential resource.

If you have no resources to offer, please spread the word by forwarding this email.

Sincerely,

Ryan Lingo
