[Nhcoll-l] Papers that support collections

Hi, folks. Do you know where to find a list of papers about "why
collections matter"? One of my colleagues needs evidence to show
administrators that collections space should be expanding, not shrinking,
during a future remodel of the building.

There are two reports on this page from SPNHC
<http://www.spnhc.org/10/why-collections-matter>, but my colleague is
looking for peer-reviewed papers. Any suggestions for the latest resource?
