developed by the ABS working group are currently discussed during the

Under European Law, we collections and especially Botanical Gardens will 
have difficulties to comply with the ABS Implementing Act, that is 
currently negotiated among EU Member States; currently, the IPEN-Network 
for exchange of living plants between Botanical Gardens would fail to 
meet the best practice requirements stipulated in the draft version of 
the implementing act.

We are working on it, and our hope is to widen our scope in getting 
collections outside Europe into the boot (e.g. via SPNHC or the GGBN);
and we are tryig to arrange for a specific ABS workshop during the SPNHC 
meeting in Berlin next year (to be confirmed).
