Hi - I'm a registrar for a state art collection who's trying to develop an AAM session proposal on government-owned collections. I would love to have multiple perspectives for the session, and one of your colleagues suggested checking with this listserv to see if anyone would be interested in contributing to the proposal and potentially being a presenter.
I'm approaching the question as someone who deals with objects owned by and displayed by the state, but I know there are plenty of people trying to work with government-owned collections in "regular" museums. The proposal (it's under "Capitol Challenges") is still a working draft, so there's plenty of opportunity to adapt and develop it before the deadline of August 31.
If you're interested, please email me off list at meghan.townes at lva.virginia.gov<mailto:meghan.townes at lva.virginia.gov>
Thanks!
