As you know, our most significant recruitment tool for ensuring best quality fellowship applicants is direct contact between potential fellows and our staff scientists.  During the summer many major scientific meetings take place, staff travel to other institutions and sites around the world, and researchers visit us here.  NOW is the time to talk with potential fellowship candidates through your interactions and travels so as to help recruit SI Fellowship Program applicants.  Please share notice with your colleagues and potential applicants.

Did you know that more applications received to a program results in a larger portion of funds available to that program?  It's true, so please encourage eligible candidates to apply!

OFI Fellowship Program stipend award rates:


*         $7,000 for ten-week Graduate Student Fellowship

*         $32,700/year for SI Predoctoral Fellowship

*         $37,700/year for SI Earth Science Predoctoral Fellowship and Conservators

*         $48,000/year for SI Postdoctoral Fellowship (less than 5 years since Ph.D. awarded)

*         $48,000/year for Senior Researcher Fellowship (more than 5 years since Ph.D. awarded)

*         $53,000/year for SI Earth Science Postdoctoral Fellowship

In addition to stipend, fellowship applicants can include in their application budget a research allowance request of up to $4,000 for EACH YEAR of their fellowship.
