The Research Assistant and Digitizer will participate in the digitization of specimens and in the processing and analysis of newly collected specimens from Brazil. He/she will:

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
* Capture digital images of taxonomic literature and herbarium specimens
* Transcribe data from specimens and format digitized literature and specimen images for database
* Process and incorporate newly collected herbarium specimens from Brazil
* Extract and PCR-amplify DNA from plant specimens
* Handle (select and refile) herbarium specimens

Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree required; coursework in biology
* Experience with digital photography, herbarium procedures, plant identification, and basic molecular laboratory techniques are helpful
