[Nhcoll-l] Shell ID and source

I am posting on behalf of a conservation colleague in NYC. Responses can be sent to her directly at eleonora.e.nagy at gmail.com. 
She is trying to identify and source a replacement for the shell, and this is the only available image (black and white):

>From her estimation, and having seen the artwork this fragment belonged to, she thinks this piece would be approximately 3cm in height and 6 grams. The artwork was made on the North Shore of France, but it is not possible that other shells from other sources were incorporated in this work of art, but most came from that shore. 
One suggestion was that this is a "zig zag oyster" aka "cockscomb oyster" shell, but she would like to know where she might be able to source one for comparison. 
Any other suggestions are welcome - realizing this is not a lot of information to go on. eleonora.e.nagy at gmail.com
