[Nhcoll-l] Labels for insects

I would suggest a thermal transfer printer much like we use in wet collections. The media is spun bound polyester which is virtually indestructible and will not get eaten by bugs. It also lasts a long time. We tested some labels for our ento collection and printing at 4 point font was no problem for the 400dpi printer outlined in the specs attached.

I can provide more info and sample labels if need be.

Subject: [Nhcoll-l] Labels for insects

Hello everyone,

At our institution we have recently adopted an orphaned insect collection and we are now starting a project to curate it. We were wondering if you have any recommendations on what printer we should use to create good specimen and family labels.

Thank you for your help!
