Hi Barry,

Can you tell us which institution you work for, and which city and state?

Thanks,

When our new collections facility was built a few years ago (converted warehouse), a fluid retention space was required.

In working closely with our fire marshal we were able to convince him that:

a) Such a scenario was highly unlikely given all the other mitigating measures we had in place and,

b) That were such a scenario to occur the alcohol would be so dilute given the amount of water expelled by our fire measures as to not warrant any such measures and the larger problems we would face if such a situation were to occur.

As such we do not have any such retention pond and our door drains drain directly into the sewer system.

Yes, our HVAC system has inlets at roof level and outtakes at floor level at various locations on every floor.
