[Nhcoll-l] database creation and management

Hi everyone,

Here's another newbie question: what is the recommended database for
managing collections?

We're going to have several thousand invertebrates (pinned) and their DNA
(in deep freeze), as well as a growing collection of vertebrates (mostly
from our new glass covered science building) but I'd also like to increase
our fish and herp collection as time and permits... permit. We also have
some bacteria and virus collections that should be incorporated as well.

I know some SQL and lots of R.
