[Nhcoll-l] postpone imports via FRA Frankfurt/Main gateway Germany

Dear all,

unhappy news during the holidays: the vets in FRA decided to revoke all 
previous exemptions form imports of preserved natural history specimens, 
single German collections were charged up to 800,- Eur inspection and 
warehouse costs. Previous import exemptions under EU (No) 142/2011 not 
only revoked, but declared illegal by this federal German entrance point 
in Hessen.

This stirred up DHL World post, which now consider to ban biological 
materials from transportation at all, which would be a major hit for 
specimen transfers.

Please delay /avoid shipments via national postal services to Germany 
(which are normally arrive at FRA airport); in case you can't delay 
shipments, please use either FedEx or UPS, as these shipment are cleared 
in Cologne / North Rhine-Westphalia.

We are working on this, but may need some time.
